Air Canada is the biggest airline of Canada. It was founded in 1936 by the federal government as Trans-Canada Airlines. In 1965 the company changed to the current name. Air Canada was privatized in 1988. The airline’s headquarter is located in Montreal, Quebec.
Air Canada has a fleet of 192 planes, including Airbus A330, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 for long-haul routes and Airbus A320, Embraer E170 and Embraer E190 for short-haul routes. The company works with more than 1,530 scheduled flights every day destinated to 178 locations worldwide. Besides, it has about 27,000 workers.
Air Canada’s slogan is: “GO FAR”.
The president and CEO of the company is Calin Rovinescu and its chairman is David I. Richardson.
The airline has a subsidiary company, Air Canada Vacations, that provides holiday packages to over destinations.
