The new Xfinity TV App with Roku

You can say goodbye to the old Xfinity App where you watched all your favourite TV contents, because Comcast cable company announced in the previous days that this app would be replaced by the new Xfinity Stream App in the February 28th and it will offer a bigger list of digital channels, a better DVR storage, an improved interface and a Live and On demand multilingual programming guide for any user no matter the place they come.

So that, this new Beta trial app that stills in development, allows all the Xfinity TV customers to access their TV cable service and also it can be playable on many of the Roku streaming devices in the current day, including the most recently released models like Roku 4, Roku 2, Roku Express and Express +, Roku Premiere, and even the Roku Ultra Models that incorpore the remote streaming sticks.  Moreover, to use this Beta app on Roku devices firstly you must subscribe to both services Xfinity TV and Xfinity Internet service, and secondly, you must have at least one Comcast-provided TV Box, a CableCARD and obligatorily a compatible IP gateway in your home.

In addition, the Xfinity TV Beta App has been launched for iOs and Android devices on 28th February too, but the main application of this new service is the capability of being connected directly to the TV, bypassing the cable box for delivery of live TV channels, attracting contents which are on demand and cloud DVR recordings. In this context, the new app lets subscribers access all the channels which they have paid without renting another Xfinity Cable Box, improving then their experience with the service.

Besides the fact that the Beta version app can be used on the Roku platform, the new Xfinity programming guide will provide to its subscribers an immersive guide with improved graphics (up to 720p), official images, personalized recommendations and detailed information for all the films, TV series, and TV shows  which are property of Comcast TV service.

Finally, Comcast will launch the new Xfinity TV app later this year, but the company expects that the users of these services give their feedback trying this Beta version during this time to still improving the app and the experience it transmits.
